Brandon Stieg is a West Marin-based sculptor whose work blends raw material, narrative depth, and a deep reverence for nature. A lifelong maker, surfer, landscape designer, and father of three, Brandon works across mediums—from forged steel and bronze to large-scale wood carvings—letting concept guide form. While his primary focus over the past decade has been metal, his practice is rooted in exploration, with each material serving as a vehicle for storytelling.

His pieces are not castings but meticulously hand-built—forged, formed, welded, and often carved directly from raw metal. Some take nearly a year to complete, each one a journey of problem-solving, learning, and creative evolution.

At the heart of Brandon’s work is the human condition. Every sculpture begins with a personal moment of impact and aims to create space for connection, reflection, and recognition. His Diver Boy series, for example, follows a young boy navigating fear and purpose—inviting viewers, especially children, to follow the story as it unfolds piece by piece.

Brandon’s work is ultimately about presence—an invitation to pause, look closer, and find something familiar in form and feeling.
